Made in Amsterdam, ethically sourced in South-East Asia.

Did you know that our jewellery is responsibly sourced from recycled silver and gold?

Our story began in 1997 when our founder Batul sketched a bracelet that symbolized connection. It stood for connection between him and the earth and between the beings on our earth. The bracelet had to be heavy to keep him grounded in this life. Together with a local silversmith, he brought those sketches to life.

Our earth is inseparably connected to the creation of our brand, and our connection to the earth is still at the heart of everything we do. We are pure in our extremes. We make our jewellery with passion, love and care for our planet and the people who live on it. We make premium handmade jewellery for life. Designed in Amsterdam and ethically produced by the best local silversmiths in Southeast Asia.

We take big steps towards a sustainable future.

We are against mass production. Our products are designed to last a lifetime with proper care. All our jewellery is made by hand. In fact, craftsmanship is at the heart of our jewellery. It takes at least 72 man hours for our bracelets to be ready to be worn. The core of each piece of jewellery consists of different pieces that are woven together by hand until they form a chain of unconventional connections. While forming the connections, the silversmith uses all their expertise to give the jewellery a Buddha to Buddha look and feel. By attaching the lock to the jewellery, the Buddha gets a soul. Everything we design, everything we create and everything we do is one-of-a-kind handmade just for you.

We treat Mother Earth and her people with integrity. How do we do this? All our jewellery is made with recycled silver and gold, and we are committed to using certified recycled silver and gold for more than 90% of our products by the end of 2023. Currently, 80% of our jewellery comes from suppliers approved by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), and by 2025 we aim to source 100% of our jewellery from suppliers approved by the RJC. RJC is the leading standards authority in the global watch and jewellery industry and works with members worldwide to create a sustainable supply chain.

To reduce our impact on the environment, we are switching to biodegradable packaging. By the end of 2023, 80% of our packaging will be biodegradable and by 2024, all of our packaging will be biodegradable. Additionally, our bags and clothing are made of 100% organic cotton. This organic cotton is grown without harmful pesticides, using only methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment and the people who work with the cotton.

In short, when you choose a Buddha to Buddha piece of jewellery, you are not only choosing premium quality and craftsmanship but you are also choosing to care about our planet. We stand for high-quality handmade jewellery, designed in Amsterdam and ethically produced at local gold and silver smiths in Southeast Asia. With all our doings, our jewellery and with our brand, we inspire you to create meaningful connections with the earth, the people on our earth and especially with yourself. Get in touch with the inner you. Form strong and meaningful connections with others. Connect with the rest of the world. Show with your jewellery that you care about the planet and the people around you.
